The Certina DS-1 Big Date C029.426.36.041.00 debuted in 2025 as part of the expanded DS-1 collection, marking 60 years of Certina’s Double Security (DS) System. This version pairs a 41mm 316L stainless steel case with rose gold PVD-coating for a warm, elegant contrast. Its deep night blue dial fades subtly to black at the edges, accented by rose gold PVD-coated hands and indexes. A prominent big date display at 6 o’clock, using two separate discs, ensures clear legibility. It is powered by the Swiss-made automatic caliber C07.651, which provides an 80-hour power reserve and uses a Nivachron balance spring for improved resistance to magnetic fields and temperature variations. A curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating protects the dial, while a transparent sapphire case back reveals the movement. The watch is fitted with a blue calfskin leather strap secured with a pin buckle and equipped with Certina’s Quick-Release System. Water resistance is rated to 100 meters.
