The NOMOS Ludwig gold 211.U1 debuted in 2026 as a one-of-a-kind Twice Unique execution based on the regular Ludwig gold ref. 211. Within the Twice Unique format, each design is created as an inseparable pair in stainless steel and 18 kt gold, with five models per collection. In the Rive Gauche series, Ludwig is one of those five models, its dial reworked from an original design by German textile and object artist Anna Diederichs. Its case is executed in 18 kt gold and measures 35.0mm in diameter, 6.3mm in height, and 45.0mm lug to lug. The watch is fitted with a sapphire crystal and a solid gold crown. Water resistance is rated to 3 atm. The dial is specific to the Rive Gauche collection and is derived from Anna Diederichs’ original sketches for the Parisian fashion world of the 1960s. For the Twice Unique watches, NOMOS selected dial-sized excerpts from those drawings and recreated them using a four-colour pad-printing process. Each model in the collection uses the same source material but presents it differently. In the Ludwig version, traces of the original pencil sketch remain visible. As part of the Rive Gauche treatment, the usual Ludwig numerals are omitted, leaving the printed composition and the model’s characteristic railroad minute track to structure the dial. Inside is the NOMOS DUW 4001, a hand-wound in-house movement measuring 23.3mm in diameter and 2.6mm in height, with 17 jewels and a power reserve of up to 53 hours. This calibre was formerly known as Alpha and remains one of NOMOS’ core manually wound movements. This reference is fitted on a black Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan strap in remborde construction, with an 18mm lug width.
