The NOMOS Tangente 123.U4 debuted in 2026 as a one-of-a-kind Twice Unique execution in the Auric collection, based on the regular Tangente 33 in stainless steel. Within the Twice Unique format, each design is created as an inseparable pair in stainless steel and 18 kt gold, with five models per collection. In Auric, Tangente 33 is one of those five models, its dial reworked through a gilding process developed with Berlin-based gilder Michelle Sachs. Its case is executed in stainless steel and follows the Tangente 33 proportions, measuring 32.8mm in diameter, 6.5mm in height, and 42.2mm lug to lug. The watch is fitted with a sapphire crystal and is water-resistant to 5 atm. The straight lugs, narrow bezel, and flat profile remain unchanged from the underlying Tangente design. The dial is specific to the Auric collection. For these watches, the dial surface was first prepared with gilding size and then worked in multiple stages, with gold leaf applied, layered, and partially lifted again over extended drying intervals. In this collection, the dial dispenses with typography entirely, leaving the surface treatment and the hands as the defining visual elements. In the Tangente version, that approach replaces the standard white silver-plated dial, Arabic numerals, and subsidiary seconds layout of the regular model with a fully gold-leaf-based composition. Inside is the NOMOS DUW 4001, a hand-wound in-house movement measuring 23.3mm in diameter and 2.6mm in height, with 17 jewels and a power reserve of up to 53 hours. DUW 4001 remains one of NOMOS’ core manually wound calibres and is used here as the base movement for the Tangente 33 format. This reference is fitted on a strap with a 17mm lug width.
