The IWC Ingenieur Automatic 42 IW3389-02 debuted in 2026 as the first coloured ceramic execution of the Gérald Genta-derived integrated-bracelet Ingenieur design. It combines a dark olive green ceramic case and bracelet with matching dial elements, gold accents, and the IWC-manufactured calibre 82110. Its case measures 42 mm in diameter and 11.5 mm in thickness. The construction uses a multi-part ceramic architecture with the case ring, bezel, and case back ring all executed in dark olive green ceramic, together with a crown protection element in the same material. A thin titanium ring secures the movement, carries the functional screws from front and back, and contributes to the 10 bar water resistance. The watch is fitted with a convex sapphire crystal with antireflective coating on both sides and a transparent sapphire case back. The dial is olive green and features the characteristic Ingenieur “Grid” pattern. The hands and appliques are gold-plated and filled with Super-LumiNova. The crown is crafted from 18-carat 5N gold, while the bezel screws are made of 18-carat Armor Gold. The display consists of central hours, minutes, hacking seconds, and a date aperture. Inside is the IWC-manufactured calibre 82110, an automatic movement with Pellaton winding, central hacking seconds, date display, and a power reserve of 60 hours. It operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and uses 22 jewels. Parts subject to high stress in the winding system are made from zirconium oxide ceramic, including the automatic wheel and clicks in black ceramic and the central rotor bearing in white ceramic. The movement is decorated with Geneva stripes and is visible through the sapphire case back. The watch is fitted with an integrated olive green ceramic bracelet with a butterfly clasp. Case and bracelet components combine satin finishing, sandblasting, and polishing, with satin-finished surfaces, polished edges, and additional smooth sandblasting used across the ceramic exterior.
