Conceived with a hue that sits between yellow, grey, and pink tones, this alloy gives the watch a distinctly different appearance from the brand’s established yellow, white, and Everose gold executions. For this reference, Rolex pairs that new metal with a light green aventurine dial and a fluted bezel, creating a configuration that is notable both for the debut of the alloy and for the uncommon material contrast between case, bracelet, and dial. The Oyster case measures 40 mm in diameter and is fashioned entirely from 18 ct Jubilee Gold. It follows the established Day-Date architecture, with a monobloc middle case, screw-down case back, and Twinlock screw-down winding crown. The fluted bezel remains one of the key identifiers of the model, while the sapphire crystal incorporates a Cyclops lens over the date and benefits from anti-reflective coating. Water resistance is rated to 100 metres. In this reference, the polished case surfaces and the fluted bezel place greater emphasis on the alloy itself, allowing the new metal to function as one of the watch’s principal distinguishing features. The dial is executed in light green aventurine, a natural stone from the quartz family, and is set with an hour circle of ten baguette-cut diamonds. This combination gives the watch a markedly different surface character from the lacquered, sunray, or ombré dials used elsewhere in the current Rolex catalogue. The stone dial introduces a granular, reflective texture, while the diamond hour markers replace the conventional applied indexes found on most Day-Date references. Inside is Rolex calibre 3255, a self-winding manufacture movement developed for the Day-Date line and designed to display the day, date, and time. It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers approximately 70 hours of power reserve. Its technical features include the Chronergy escapement, a blue Parachrom hairspring with Rolex overcoil, a large balance with variable inertia regulated by four gold Microstella nuts, and Paraflex shock absorbers. The movement provides instantaneous day and date display with secure rapid-setting, together with stop-seconds for precise time setting. The watch is fitted with a President bracelet in 18 ct Jubilee Gold, a bracelet type historically reserved for the Day-Date and precious-metal versions of the Datejust. In this execution, it combines polished centre links with satin-finished outer links and polished edges, and incorporates ceramic inserts inside the links to reduce wear and improve flexibility on the wrist. The concealed folding Crownclasp preserves the continuity of the bracelet’s profile.
